Reverse osmosis is the process of removing dissolved or suspended molecules from a liquid by driving it under high pressure through a membrane. It is used to clean up industrial waste and create drinking water from the sea. BPT have transformed traditional methods to optimise the yield and minimise the energy used. Our smart configuration of a unique combination of technologies allows us to recover 75% of the water we target. Average yields from other technologies are around 40%. Likewise the remaining brine is 2 to 3 times more concentrated which makes it more practical and cost effective to mine for minerals.
