Blue Planet Technologies are pioneering the commercial use of Hydraulic and Osmotic Assisted Reverse Osmosis with the aim of manufacturing a range of practical solutions which could be integrated, retrofitted or deployed as standalone systems around the world. It raises the prospect of producing fresh drinking water in an energy efficient, carbon light and environmentally friendly way, 

BPT will also explore more efficient methods of managing industrial wastewater and recovering valuable metals and minerals from waste bi-products. An early priority for example could be the extraction of lithium from the oceans. Experts estimate that only 20 million tonnes of Lithium is thought to be commercially extractable by land mining but nearly 180 billion tonnes is thought to exist in the seas.
